The names of two 2nd Infantry Division soldiers who died when their military vehicle fell into a river in South Korea were released Monday.

Maj. Evans Hanson, 35, of Sugarland, Texas, and Pfc. Justin Adams, 21, of North Redington, Fla., were conducting reconnaissance for future training near the Rodriguez Live Fire Complex in Yeoncheon when they lost communications with their unit on Nov. 21, according to a 2nd ID statement.

A search for them began Thursday afternoon and continued overnight. They were found Friday morning.

Both soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team headquartered at Camp Hovey in Dongducheon.

A memorial ceremony was to be held Tuesday, Army officials said.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, according to the 2nd ID statement.
