Air Assault candidates ruck their hearts out

CAMP CASEY, South Korea-- Approximately 50 Air Assault candidates from the 210th Field Artillery Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division gear up at 3 a.m. to participate in a 12-mile ruck march through Camp Hovey and Camp Casey, South Korea, August 15, 2014. After successfully completing the ruck march in under three hours and finishing a layout of their equipment, these Soldiers will be eligible to enroll in the upcoming Air Assault school September 10-20, 2014.

Pfc. Nicholas A. George, a healthcare specialist from Denver, Colo., assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 210th Field Artillery Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, was the first to finish the ruck march with a time of 2:22.

The 210th FA Bde. commander, Col. Michael J. Lawson marched alongside Soldiers with noncommissioned officer of the year, Sgt. Alex Garcia. Throughout the march, they motivated Soldiers to push on and make it to the finish line.
