Camp Casey Library re-opens
CAMP CASEY -- A new chapter began May 3 as the community got its first look at the re-located Casey Library.
Raymond Myers, U.S. Army Garrison Casey's deputy to the garrison commander spoke to community members about the move and the enhanced library.
"Moving here brings the library closer to the school and creates more of a downtown feel," said Myers.
In addition to being closer to Casey Elementary, the library is across the street from Child, Youth & School Services and across the street from Starbucks. Part of that downtown feel Myers mentioned.
According to Tracey Klippert, supervisory librarian for the Casey enclave libraries, they are enjoying the openness and the new furnishings.
"It's very easy to manage, you can see down all of the stacks, see into the children's area," said Klippert. "Other than DVDs, children's books are the most checked out item, we get a lot of parents in here with their children every day and it is the most popular feature of the library."
And, Klippert means everyday... the library is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week and has added some very sharp e-readers with e-magazines coming soon to their free Wi-Fi area.
