Commander's Cup: A Dynasty Is Born

Winners of the Area I Commander's Cup were recognized at an awards ceremony at Camp Hovey’s fitness center Nov. 26.

The awards were in three categories based on unit size: large, medium, and small.

The winners were: Large category: Company C, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, which scored its third straight win in that category; Medium: 46th Transportation Company, 501st Sustainment Brigade; Small: Battery F, 333rd Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division.

Each of those units received a traveling trophy and a $400 gift card.

During the ceremony, Maj. Gen. Thomas S. Vandal, Commanding General, 2nd Infantry Division, encouraged Soldiers to participate in sports, recreational, educational and other activities that help build unit morale and cohesion. Col. Jack Haefner, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I, hosted the ceremony.
