Daegu hosts Local Job Opportunities fair
DAEGU GARRISON — U.S. Army Garrison Daegu’s Army Community Services hosted a Local Job Opportunities Forum, Sept. 27, on Camp Walker. The purpose of the forum was to provide employment options and opportunities for all.
U.S ID holders, especially military spouses, were highly encouraged to attend. Inside the Evergreen Community Club, 17 employers and nearly 90 people participated in getting job seekers together with open jobs.
This event was very useful not only for the employers but also for jobseekers too. The jobseekers could receive useful information and question how to prepare for the job which they are interested in, how to apply, and how to boost their resume to represent their careers. Employers also distributed information pamphlets and answered questions with the jobseekers own booth.
“I think it is a great opportunity because we see people who are interested in a job one on one verse by email, a telephone call or try to contact a our office located outside” said Korea Southern Region General Manager for Army & Air Force Exchange Service, Paula D. Henderson.
“I prepared for this event and made sure I slotted of time for it. I had all of my resume get ready pretty much better and good dressed up. Also want to get a good impression.” said participant, Gabrielle. Taflinger
Joseph Lee, who hosted this job forum for ACS, emphasized the job forum for prospective employees, especially military spouses.
“Even with our efforts, many spouses did not come this forum,” Lee said. “So I wish not only more spouses but also more U.S ID holders visit next job fair. There will be more companies from outside attending, compared to this job forum.”
