Military Saves Week is a financial readiness initiative observed in military communities throughout Department of Defense, from Feb. 25 to March 2, to encourage sound financial management practices. The goal of this campaign is to persuade, encourage and motivate service members to take financial action in building wealth through saving money and reducing debt.

During Military Saves Week, all members of the Army Family are called upon to establish saving plans or take other wealth-building actions and pledge to sustain those actions during the following year. This year's theme is "Set a Goal. Make a Plan. Save Automatically."

Camp Humphreys' Military Saves events begin with a kickoff event Feb. 26, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Exchange Food Court.

Garrison Commander COL Darin S. Conkright will make opening remarks and Army Community Service staff will be accepting Military Saves pledges and giving away prizes, piggy banks and other items.

Listen for ACS staff discussing various financial topics on AFN Radio Feb. 27, from 1-2 p.m. On Thursday, Feb. 28, ACS financial staff will be at the Talon Dining Facility distributing various financially-themed giveaways and encouraging Soldiers to sign up to be a saver, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
