November is Native American Heritage Month - and the Army has celebrated that rich heritage in many ways, among which is the naming of Army aircraft since the early '60s.

#ArmyHistory The practice of naming Army aircraft after American Indian nations, leaders or terms, without sacrificing their dignity, and suggesting an aggressive spirit and confidence in the capabilities of the aircraft began in 1969 when a regulation, now rescinded, formally mandated the practice.
