Just in time for the holiday season, the American Red Cross is proud to partner with Amazon which has generously donated 2,000 gift packages filled with goodies to bring cheer to service men and women stationed overseas. Red Cross offices across Europe, Korea, Japan, Kuwait and Djibouti will distribute the packages which include an Amazon Kindle Fire HD, chocolates, coffee, comfort items, and other snacks.

The Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces currently serves and supports members of the military by helping families cope with the challenges of military life, including being away from family and friends during the holidays. Josh Williams, Regional Program Director in Korea stated, “These gift packages will certainly bring a smile and hopefully some holiday cheer to those service men and women working Christmas Day and the Red Cross is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a generous gift from Amazon.”

In Korea, most of the packages will be delivered to US military members working on Christmas Day. Volunteers and staff will hand deliver packages to those stationed in Yongsan, Daegu, Osan, Kunsan, Camp Humphreys, Camp Casey, Camp Red Cloud, and along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
