YONGSAN GARRISON – Soldiers from A Company, 532nd Military Intelligence, 501st MI Brigade, spent many of their summer days volunteering at the Seoul American Middle School on Yongsan Garrison. With paint brushes, rollers and rags in hand, the Soldiers worked their way through the halls, restrooms, library and basketball court.

The work began in April of this year and came to an end Oct. 14. On that day, Soldiers left blue hand prints on a wall; a reminder of their helping hands.

Staff Sgt. William Pruett, an Intel Analyst with A Co., said volunteer work is a great way to help get Soldiers involved with the local community, build unit cohesion and morale.

“It is kind of addicting,” Pruett said. “Once you get started with helping out in the community and seeing the appreciative way people react, you just want to keep finding anything to help out other people.”
