DAEGU GARRISON — As the world becomes more global, it becomes more obvious that there are many gifted children among us who might not be able to see their dreams come true for a number of reasons. Topping that list may be the challenges often associated with financial strains, and a poor economy. In terms of education, it is for this reason things like financial aid and or scholarships can have a profound impact on the future of these bright boys and girls.

A perfect example of this impact was made even clearer when on Sept. 16th the 30th KSC Division helped two outstanding Daegu children take a huge step toward furthering the education goals and or aspirations. The two students, one from second grade and one from third grade both attend Daebong Elementary School, and both were both granted a 200,000 Won gift certificate. According to KSC officials, the certificate was designed for the purpose of giving the students help in purchasing stationary goods and educational books and materials needed to pursue higher goals.

Daebong Elementary School Principal, Lee Chun Ja, expressed her gratitude to the KSC members by stating, “Often it is easy to forget that there are many more unprivileged people than us in the world. So, most of the time these people who are in dire need of help are forgotten. However, sometimes few good men come together to breathe in a sense of hope for the unfortunate. Choi Hua Jung (2nd grader) and Son Gun Ik (3rd grader) are both fabulous students, who I believe can achieve great things with a just a little bit of push and help. The 30th KSC Division has been working with us as a partner for a while now, and I cannot thank them enough for helping these kids to look toward the future and not to dwell on the present and past”
