Be Strong

When father leaves it’s not fun.
Groups of soldiers board the planes.
I’ll cry that night
And wake up smiling.
Everyone knows,
They know he left.
“He crashed, everyone on the plane is dead”
They tease.
I’ll run and break down
And cry.
They don’t care.
Me being worried is their
Joke.
Each year we will move
And each year people will give no sympathy.
I won’t say a word
About anything, but
I’ll write it.
I don’t like being
A military child.
You move and
Move.
When you finally
Find friends, you’ll
Never know when
You leave.
I’ll stay quiet
And be strong.
