Women have played a very important role throughout history, and Women's History Month gives us the chance to celebrate these accomplishments. Below we have compiled a list of websites which provide great resources for teach our kids (and ourselves!) about women's contributions to our world:

  • The Women's History Month website provides a collection of great sources for information on Women's Suffrage, artist Georgia O'Keefe, Women Pioneers and much more at http://womenshistorymonth.gov/teachers.html.
  • The National Women's History Project features resources around the 2013 theme of "Women Inspiring Innovation Through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics."  Check out their Resource Center at www.nwhp.org/resourcecenter/index.php.
  • The Smithsonian Education website offers great educational resources on topics including Women in Aviation and Space History, American Women, Exploring the History of Women Inventors and much more. Visit www.smithsonianeducation.org/educators/resource_library/women_resources.html for more information.
