Hello Military Families,

This week I would like to highlight an opportunity for service members transitioning out of the military with Siemens. The Siemens USA Veterans Initiative Program is a FREE training for veterans of the U.S. armed forces on computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and PM software.

The Siemens PLM USA Veterans Initiative Program is a regional productivity program targeted at veterans of the armed forces to develop their skills in STEM-related careers (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

Siemens PLM Software will provide scholarships to cover the cost of instructor-led training classes executed at their Siemens PLM Software Universities. There are four CAD courses, three CAM courses and four Teamcenter PLM courses to choose from; the courses range from two to five days.

Program participation eligibility: All veterans of the U.S. armed forces who meet the program criteria are eligible to participate. For the prospective student, the requirements are that you:  A) Must be a United States veteran (served in any branch of the U.S. military) B) Are transitioning from the military to the civilian workforce, underemployed, unemployed or a current active duty veteran enrolled in the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E) Program. C) Have prior education or experience in engineering, drafting, machining, logistics or supply chain. D) Meet the minimum prerequisites for each course intended to take.

Prospective students are admitted on a space-available basis following the registration process. Tuition will be waived assuming the program participation eligibility criteria are met.

Registration process: * Determine if you are eligible * Visit Siemens PLM Software Training and search by location for the training site of your choice. * Search for upcoming classes that are included in the program (in available courses) to find the date and location of your class. * If you are in the VA’s VR&E program, contact the Siemens PLM Software training office for additional information. * If you are unemployed or underemployed and are not in the VA’s VR&E program, call or email Bill Koch, Director/Workforce Development, at wkoch@stillservingveterans.org or 256-883-7054 to complete the registration process.

Purpose of the veterans program: Siemens PLM Software is a leading provider of technologies to industry, and they recognize the current shortage of skilled workers. Veterans make great employees because they already possess a discipline and high work ethic. By providing training on their technologies, they hope to give veterans additional skills that will help them become employable with Siemens or Siemens clients.

Siemens does not guarantee employment to anyone. All veterans are encouraged to apply to positions with Siemens for which they are qualified. Training on the software will give you additional skills which might make you more marketable for employment at Siemens or with Siemens 70,000 clients who use their CAD/CAM software technology. For more information and the courses being offered go to www.plm.automation.siemens.com/en_us/ and/or call 866-397-3336 EMAIL or email training.plm@siemens.com. Please keep me posted if you take advantage of this opportunity. I would love to hear the feedback.

Blessing from my family to yours,

Kim Suchek
