Osan's Wild West Night aims to raise over $30K
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea – Osan Air Base’s largest fundraiser event of the year, Wild West Night, will be held at the Enlisted Club on Saturday, March 25. From 5-11 p.m., attendees may participate in live auctions, silent auctions and casino-style games with all proceeds funding scholarships for local and stateside dependents, active duty military, military retirees, DOD civilians and contractors attending a university, college or trade school in the 2017-2018 school year.
“Last year Wild West Night raised just shy of $30k, but this year we are hoping to blow that figure out of the water because the main purpose of this night is giving back to Osan,” said Kimberley Onofre, Wild West Night Chairwoman. “So grab your buddies and head on down to the Wild West Night Saloon at the Enlisted Club for a boot scootin’ good time!”
Pre-sale tickets will be available at the BX on March 13-17, March 18 and March 20-24 for $10, but tickets at the door will cost $15. E-4 and below will be admitted for free. While the event is open to all ranks, attendees must be 18 or older to attend.
Entertainment for the night includes: can-can dancers, line dancing, prize drawings and an after party with a live band. Texas-style barbecue and western-themed drinks will be available for purchase. Those cowboys and cowgirls participating in casino-style games will receive what is called “funny money” to play with in the place of U.S. dollars. A variety of top-notch prizes like gift baskets filled with home business products and Korean home goods may be purchased with funny money winnings.
This will be the thirty-seventh Wild West Night to be held at Osan Air Base. It is one of many events sponsored by Team Osan Spouses’ Club (TOSC).
