The 168th MMB hosts the Area IV National Hispanic Heritage Month observance

The 168th Multifunctional Medical Battalion hosted the Area IV National Hispanic Heritage Month observance Sept. 29 at Camp Henry, Daegu, Korea.

During the event, Area IV Soldiers listened to the remarks of guest speaker, Command Sgt. Maj. Juan A. Abreu, United States Army Garrison Daegu’s senior enlisted advisor, and enjoyed a Latin dance demonstration. Members of the audience were invited on stage to learn how to dance Bachata, Merengue, and Salsa.

After the event, Area IV Soldiers headed to the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command’s Sustainers Grill for a special meal and to commemorate Hispanic Heritage month with a cake cutting ceremony. The commanding General of the 19th ESC, Brig. Gen. Michel M. Russell Sr. and his wife Sieglinde Gruber-Russell cut a cake with the Soldiers of Area IV.

Soldiers with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 19th ESC also enjoyed a potluck party to celebrate the occasion. Soldiers from different Latin American countries brought their favorite dishes to share with one another.
