The Army and Air Force Exchange Service hosted a grand opening celebration of the new Dual Food Court, which will house a Burger King and Popeye’s restaurant, Feb. 13.

Garrison Commander Col. Scott W. Mueller and Garrison Command Sergeant Major Antonio R. Lopez, along with Exchange Manager Scott Bonner and Pacific Regional Vice President Rick Fair, cut the ribbon.

This opening makes for 152 Burger King’s and 84 Popeye’s restaurants in the Exchange system worldwide.

The first Burger King in Korea, opened in a Camp Casey Quonset hut, in 1985. As for the first Popeye’s, that was a modular unit, flown in on a C-5 in 1993. It was opened at Yongsan Garrison.
