OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Osan Air Base welcomes all Department of Defense identification cardholders ahead of Air Power Day 2019 for APD Friends and Family Day on Friday, September 20.

APD Friends and Family Day will be a full practice run of all aerial and grounds events occurring on Saturday’s public show with a few minor variations to the main stage events.

The day’s activities are open to all U.S. Forces Korea friends and family with access to the installation.

Schedule

For a full schedule of events, please visit the Air Power Day main page at https://www.osan.af.mil/Air-Power-Day/.

Entry

All DOD ID Cardholders have access to the APD flight line viewing area through the main entry control point located next to the Air Mobility Command Terminal.  All personnel must have valid identification on them to re-enter main base.

Parking and Transportation

Free shuttles from on-base parking will begin rotations at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.  The blue shuttle will begin at the Mustang Center and the orange shuttle will begin at the Osan Medical Clinic’s parking lot.  Both routes will stop at building 600 before dropping off riders at the main entry control point.

Road and Gate Closures

Please plan ahead on travel, as large crowds are expected on and off-base due to APD and the Korean-American Cultural Friendship Festival in Songtan occurring throughout the weekend.

The Morin Gate will close for the weekend beginning Friday at 10 p.m.  The Main Gate will be 24-hour access for all vehicles throughout the weekend.  The Main Gate will close to all vehicle traffic Monday, September 23, for an ongoing construction effort.

The roads near the AMC Terminal, to include Terminal Road, Jo Rang Mal Road, and Broadway Blvd., will close to all traffic throughout the weekend.

Emergency Communication

The large influx of visitors to the Songtan area is expected to have impacts on cellphone service and reception.  If you find yourself in an emergency, please locate the nearest landline phone and dial emergency services at DSN 784-9111.
