Busan to establish World Peace Park by 2005

The city of Busan plans to establish the ‘Busan World Peace Park’ around the Busan UN Memorial Park region.

It is to open by 2025, which marks the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule.

The city plans to integrate all cultural facilities located in the area including the UN memorial park, the Peace Park, the Daeyeon arboretum and Busan Museum.

The integrated area will open under the name ‘World Peace Park’ by 2025 using an investment of 311 billion won.

The project also includes plans to build a new square and reconstruct the roads around the area.
