Coronavirus: Event cancellations and venue closures in South Korea

Due to ongoing coronavirus concerns, many events in Korea have been cancelled, postponed, or scaled down for the next few weeks. Below is an abbreviated list of cancellations of major events and venue closures throughout the country.

DODEA-Korea schools closed week of Mar. 16-20.

Events in Busan

  • All events at BEXCO are canceled indefinitely.
  • Nurimaru APEC House will be temporarily closed. There is no official re-open date scheduled.
  • The 57th annual Jinhae Geunhangjae Festival scheduled for April canceled.
  • ECCK Breakfast with Mayor Oh Keo-don, Paradise Hotel scheduled for March 5 postponed.
  • Busan Theatre Festival scheduled for March 6 postponed until July 18
  • Holi Hai, Milyang scheduled for March 14 postponed.
  • Seoul Fashion Week scheduled for March 17-21 at DDP in Seoul canceled.
  • Busan WELLfest, Golden Tulip Hotel for March 21 postponed.
  • ITTF World Table Tennis Championships for March 22 postponed until June 21
  • Busan Cafe Show, BEXCO March 12-15 - Undetermined 
  • Holi Hai, Milyang March 14 - Postponed
  • Pink Run, Busan Yachting Center March 15
  • Musical “Aida”, Dream Theatre March 20
  • Busan WELLfest, Golden Tulip Hotel March 21 - Postponed
  • Busan Comic World, BEXCO March 28-29 - postponed until June 13-14
  • 20th Sasang Riverside Festival, Rugby field at Samnak Ecological Park March 28-29 - Canceled
  • Samnak Cherry Blossom Festival, Samnak Ecological Park March 28 - Canceled
  • Daejeo Tomato Festival, Gangseo Sports Park April 4 – 5 - Canceled
  • Nakdong Riverside Yuchae Flower Festival, Daejeo Ecological Park in April - Undecided
  • 2020 Busan Annual Market of Art, BEXCO April 9-12 - Postponed until August
  • 2020 Gwangalli Fishing Village Festival, Gwangalli Beach April 24-26 - Postponed until October 23 to October 25
  • Nakdong River Yuchae Flower Festival in Changhyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province scheduled for April cancelled.
  • Art Busan 2020 May 14 to 17 - postponed until this Fall.

K-pop boys group BTS concerts scheduled for April 11, 12, 18 and 19 canceled.
