First coronavirus case confirmed on Osan Air Base, raising US Forces Korea total to 16

OSAN AIR BASE, South Korea — U.S. Forces Korea confirmed the first coronavirus case on Osan Air Base on Friday, raising the total number of cases affiliated with the U.S. military in South Korea to 16.

Contact tracing and thorough cleaning were underway at the base, which is south of Seoul, USFK said in a tweet. It didn’t immediately provide more details.

Camp Humphreys, which is near the air base, has reported seven cases, including six since an American contractor tested positive on March 24.
