Gwangalli Beach is one of the best places in the city to go out at night and experience the nightlife of Busan.

If you’re looking for a quiet date choice, a place to chill with friends or looking to go out on a rip, the beach area is bustling during the warmer months with people searching for some great nightime atmosphere.

Whether you sit at the beach, a convenience store table or at one of the many bars and restaurants that line the beach, there are plenty of different options to choose from once you wade past the many, many coffee shops that grace the beach road.

While there are plenty of options on the beach, here’s a guide starting from the northeast end to the southwest to get you started if you’re looking to imbibe on a few drinks that aren’t at a convenience store sitting area.

Gorilla Brewing Company

Open: 5 p.m. to midnight

Gorilla Brewing is a popular spot for craft beer lovers and pub grub. With a wide array of award-winning beers, lovers of IPA’s, Pale Ale’s and dark beer won’t be disappointed.

Wild Wave Brewing

Open: Monday to Thursday: 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Friday: 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Saturday: 12 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The newest addition to the Gwangalli drinking scene, Wild Wave Brewing’s main focus is on sour and wild beer.

Fuzzy Navel

Open: 11 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Opened in 2010, Fuzzy Navel has been a long-standing bar on the beach that offers lots of cocktails, pub food, and a nice terrace to sit outside.

Open: Monday, Wednesday through Sunday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A great place to get some Indian food at the beach, Bollywood offers a variety of fusion pub and drink specials and weekend specials.

HQ Bar

Open: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 7 p.m. to 12 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.

HQ is a legendary Busan expat bar that has a wide variety of drinks for great prices. Known for hosting tons of events, live music, comedy, trivia, and open mics, it’s a great place to start or end your night.

Tap Security Place

Open: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Operated by Thursday Party, it features 20 kinds of craft beers made in Korea and barbecue platters including ribs, pulled pork, pork belly, and seafood.

Cocky Pub

Open: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

A popular pub-style bar on the beach, they have a wide variety of drinks to choose from as well as a standard pub-grub menu to choose from.

Thursday Party

Open: 6 p.m. to late

Thursday Party has two locations next to each other in the middle of the beach. Known for their cheap drinks and loud music, its a good place to party amongst the young Korean and expat crowd, though be prepared to be in a packed house.

Happy Monk

Open: Monday – Thursday: 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Friday: 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Saturday: 2 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Sunday: 2 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Sitting near the middle of the beach, Happy Monk is a good option for those looking for a few cocktails or beers with a quieter vibe.

SOL Pizza

Open: 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.

SOL Taphouse has a large selection of craft beers to choose from, but don’t miss out on the pizza and wings which have been a local favorite since their 2015 opening.

Owl and Pussycat

Open: Weekdays: 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Saturday: 1 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Craft beer and pub grub with a great view of the bridge, Owl and Pussycat is a local favorite for Koreans and expats young and old.

LA Bar and Grill

Open: Wednesday and Thursday 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Friday: 3 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Saturday: 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Sunday: 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.

A fun new sports-style pub with a wide selection of drinks and great pub food just a stone’s throw from the beach.

Eva’s has been a staple of the Busan expat scene for years and offers a large variety of craft beer and cocktails and a great rooftop for the summer.

Bar Di.Lan

Open: Monday to Thursday: 6 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Friday, Saturday: 6 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Bar DI.LAN offers a great collection of wine and food as well as a cozy and beautiful atmosphere.

Galmegi Brewing Company

Open: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Friday, Saturday: 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Galmegi’s flagship brewery has been a popular choice for craft beers and great food at the beach since they opened in 2013.
