A 36-year-old Korean man was arrested after trying to get the phone number of a Vietnamese woman by pretending to impersonate being a police officer.

According to police, the man, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time, followed the woman to her house on November 26th in Saha-gu. Feeling uncomfortable, the woman confronted the man by asking why he was following her.

The man than said he was a police officer and asked if she had proper documentation to be in the country.

Sensing something was wrong after the man couldn’t produce a police ID, the woman screamed until neighbors came out to help.

The man was then arrested by the real police for impersonating a police officer.

The accused said in a statement to the police that he followed the woman to get her phone number because he was interested in her and he unintentionally impersonated being a police officer.

Charges are currently pending a complete investigation.
