The highly anticipated Marvel Experience facility that opened in the Busan North Port last year has terminated its license and shut down for good.

The Marvel Experience, a cutting-edge virtual experience facility that uses famous film characters from Marvel, suffered from slow ticket sales and an inconvenient location according to visitors and company officials.

The facility suffered not only a two-week postponement of its opening, but only attracted 10,000 people in its four months of operation.

Though the center had a one year lease, it closed its doors at the beginning of March.

The facility, which housed 10 zones, was a mobile interactive attraction featuring Marvel’s characters such as Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Spider-Man. It also has the world’s only 360-degree, 3-D stereoscopic theater, holograms and a 4D-motion ride.

Children also complained the characters were old while parents complained the facility didn’t justify the high prices.

The Busan Port Authority plans to sell the site when Wow Planet Korea tears down the property.

It is said that two companies are interested in purchasing high-rises and other buildings.
