One of Marvel’s Black Panther Statues Vandalized in Nampodong

A statue to commemorate the filming of the hit Hollywood film Black Panther in Busan was vandalized in just a month after it was erected by the Walt Disney Company.

According to the Korean Film Commission, the Black Panther sculpture erected in Gwangbokro of Joong district in Busan, was vandalized between the evening of the 16th and the dawn of the 17th.

Marvel sent two sculptures to the Busan Film Commission last month in appreciation of the filming of Busan, and they were installed at Gwangalli Beach and Gwangbokro.

There is no CCTV in the area according to the police, adding to the difficulty of findint the suspect.

The film commission plans to consult with WDC on whether to take legal action against the vandalism.
