Power restored on Army's Yongsan Garrison in Seoul

YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Power was restored on Yongsan Army Garrison in Seoul Monday after half of the base went dark over the weekend.

The blackout, which began Saturday, did not affect the other half known as south post, where most residents and services are now located.

Critical facilities were powered by back-up generators as technicians worked to fix the problem. Soldiers who live in barracks on the main post were provide temporary housing on the south post, officials said.
