USAG Daegu honors service and sacrifice of Korean War veterans
CAMP WALKER, Republic of Korea — USAG Daegu Commander Col. Brian P. Schoellhorn and Command Sgt. Maj. Jonathon J. Blue met with the Korean Veteran’s Association in Daegu for strategic discussions and toured facilities as part of efforts to strengthen the ironclad U.S.—ROK Alliance in July. Col. Schoellhorn thanked the group of Korean War Veterans and their families for their courage, bravery and sacrifice.
The U.S. Army will never stop honoring the service and sacrifice of Korean War veterans. The Korean War began 72 years ago on June 25, 1950 and the Battle of the Pusan Perimeter—one of the first large-scale battles of the Korean War—took place along the Naktong River and terrain near modern USFK installations such as Camp Carroll and Camp Mujuk.
