USO Osan receives signed book from President George W. Bush of his own portraits of service members

USO Osan

On March 17, 2022, USO Osan had the honor of hosting USO Korea Advisory Council President Michael Quigley and USO Korea Area Director Doug Boltuc for a presentation ceremony of President George W. Bush’s illustrated Book, Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. President Bush generously donated a signed card to be placed in the book and prominently displayed at USO Osan. The ceremony was attended by service members and their families assigned to the Osan Air Base community, as well as staff and volunteers from USO Osan.

According to the website for the George W. Bush Presidential Center, "Portraits of Courage brings together sixty-six full-color portraits and a four-panel mural painted by President Bush of members of the United States military who have served our Nation with honor since 9/11—and whom he has come to know personally." (George W. Bush Presidential Center)

USO Osan will display the book and signature card in their center so that center patrons and volunteers may view it. They will also have an additional copy available for patrons to flip through.
