A wild boar was spotted near the forest trail by Busan National University of Science and Technology in Buk-gu at around 6:50 p.m. on the 20th, after a hiker reported the animal to authorities.

The district office immediately issued a safety alert urging nearby residents to stay cautious.

The boar’s size and direction of travel remain unknown.

The sighting follows similar reports a day earlier in Busanjin-gu and Yeonje-gu, where local governments also sent emergency messages.

Officials say urban encounters are becoming more common, with more than 620 wild boar reports recorded in Busan last year, often linked to seasonal movements as the animals search for food or disperse after breeding.
