AUSTIN, TX -- The Comfort Crew for Military Kids (CCMK) invites supporters of the national non-profit to participate in a virtual fun run to collectively reach the goal of 2,000,000 steps to support military kids during the Month of the Military Child. The fundraising event will be held between April 1 through April 30, 2021 with registration now open at charityfootprints.com/comfortcrew. Each step represents more than 2 million military children who have had a parent deployed at least once since 2001.

The event allows participants to be active while setting a distance goal of 1 mile, SK, 10K or any distance desired. The registration fee is $25 per adult and free to kids under 18 when signed up under a family registration. Participants have the option to fundraise, but it is not required. Each participant will receive a water bottle for joining the effort and who raises over $100 and/or share posts on social media throughout the month of April will be entered into a raffle featuring great prizes including fitness items and Yeti Ramblers.

"This Month of the Military Child, it's important to recognize that the whole family serves," said CCMK Executive Director Angela Sayler. "And we hope our first annual fun run gives families a away to connect and spend time together, while offering people a healthy and fun way to celebrate and support military kids."

The Comfort Crew for Military Kids' mission is to deliver proven resources to help military kids and their families connect and build resiliency in the face of extraordinary challenges such as deployments, reintegration, moving, injury and loss.
