Seoul American Middle School students participate Scratch Day
Students from Seoul American Middle School Tech Club along with the Yongsan Library hosted Scratch Day; a fascinating event bringing people together to learn and show off different tech and create arts and crafts projects. Members of the Tech Club spent months programing Lego-style robots to maneuver across a space themed mat to accomplish astronaut type tasks. There was also a range of gizmos to play with from a small automated car that would follow custom lines you drew with a marker to pens that could create 3D objects. In the computer room youngsters had the chance to explore the world of computer programming while a 3D printer was buzzing away nearby building objects like a plastic butterfly. Other unique arts and crafts to participate in, one of the volunteers helped kids make their own luggage tags which included a yarn pompom. At the crafts table, participants were able to construct bird houses then color and doodle on them. Kids were offered different themed headbands and a goodie bag. After some wonderful prizes were raffled off everyone was treated to a pizza party which was then top by a blue and orange cake. Thank you to all those who made this event possible.
