Army & Air Force Exchange Services opens Bun-D Restaurant at Camp Humphreys
CAMP HUMPHREYS – The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is celebrating the grand opening of Bun-D, a better-for-you restaurant, in the headquarters of United Nations Command and United States Forces Korea’s Vessey building June 14.
Army Lt. Col. Nicholas Williams, USFK Headquarters commandant was the guest speaker for the ribbon-cutting and cake-cutting ceremony.
“The joint service-members who work here in the Vessey building are very dedicated to the UNC and USFK missions, and many prefer not to leave the building in order to grab something to eat,” Williams said. “Having a healthy choice, like Bun-D, is important because it provides the staff a convenient as well as a healthy choice to refuel and get back to work.”
Bun-D focuses on natural, unprocessed ingredients for its menu, which includes daily-made sauces, fresh salads, wraps and rice bowls with the chicken or beef.
“I continue to be proud of our Exchange team’s innovation and dedication to bring in a new restaurants like BUN-D for everyone who works at the UNC and USFK headquarters.” Humphreys Exchange General Manager Ann Yi said. “The Exchange is committed to force readiness and resiliency and is truly honored to offer better-for-choices.”
The Exchange continues to promote healthy choices as part of its BE FIT program, which highlights health-conscious dining, grab-and-go options, wellness services and an assortment of fitness gear.
There are currently 28 Bun-D restaurants available at Exchange locations throughout the world to include Germany, UK, Guam and Korea, even on Army and Air Force deployed bases in Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
Camp Humphreys continues to grow and is the central hub for Soldiers and their families while stationed in Korea.
“The Exchange continues to support Camp Humphreys’ growth by growing with it,” Williams said. “There isn’t a corner of Camp Humphreys that is not serviced by a brick-and-mortar or a mobile Exchange vendor.”
