Chimek Festival in Daegu July 17-21

Daegu City will once again host one of the largest “chimek” get togethers in the country at the end of the month.

Eating chicken and drinking beer — otherwise known as “chimek” in Korea — is one of the country’s favorite get together activities.

Over a million people are expected to visit the festival again this year.

The Daegu Chimek Festival runs this year from July 17th through July 21st at the area around Duryu Park. Admission is free and a music stage will also provide entertainment with lots of cultural performances scheduled.

Admission to the event is free but some programs may have additional costs.
