Delicious noodles and Korean style pancakes at Daom
Located in a small alley on the way to Hana Tonkasu from Geumnyensan Station gate 5, Daom offers delicious noodles and buchujeon (Korean style leek pancakes), all MSG free.
It can be a little tricky to find this place and also from the outside it may not seem very welcoming — but, once you get inside, it seems like a totally different world; cozy and peaceful.
When you feel like some noodles but are still worried about nutrition, their chadolbagi bibim noodles with brisket deckle in the main photo for 7,500 won, can be an excellent choice. The freshly cooked noodles mixed with the spicy sauce was itself great, but with the beef (chadolbagi), it was even better.
The beef, which adds a different texture to the noodles, somehow neutralizes the spiciness of the sauce. The extra sauce I found was also a really great match for the buchujeon, which costs 6,000 won.
The buchujeon is thin and crunch, and a good size to share among two or three people while having their own noodles.
Because they do not use MSG and less salt, any kind of soup they offer can taste bland if you are used to a strong taste or seasoning. They make kalguksu noodles for 5,500 – 6,500 won after your order, which they knead and prepare every morning and takes time to prepare, so make sure you have ample time to enjoy your meal.
The chadolbagi bibim noodles are the most expensive dish in this restaurant and including kalguksu and bibimbap, all dishes are offered from 4,000 won to 7,500 won. They have two kinds of makgeolli between 3,000 won and 5,500 won and several kinds of soda for 1,500 won. If you want a bigger portion, you can order extra noodles or rice for 1,000 won and extra chadolbagi (70g) for 2,000 won.
You can park in front of the restaurant, but if you are not a competent driver, it will be hard to park or even find a spot. Free WiFi is available.
