Deposits will be required on disposable cups from Jun. 10 in South Korea
Starting from June 10th, customers will have to pay a deposit between 200 won and 500 won per disposable cup when they buy drinks at coffee shops and fast-food chains.
The move was announced by the Environment Ministry today as part of efforts to reduce plastic waste spiking amid the pandemic.
The deposit will be given back when they return the used cups to the stores for recycling.
