Compared to other countries, South Korea is very indulgent towards booze. You can buy and drink alcohol at any time of the night and day.  Plus, you are allowed to drink in public without having to obscure the bottle’s label. Furthermore, crimes while committed drunk are often commuted during trial as Korean courts have argued inebriated people experience temporary insanity.
