Haerim Hoetjip: Raw Fish Lunch Special With an Ocean View
It is very nice to stop to check out the shores of Busan while driving along the city’s coastlines. Cheongsapo is one of the less-developed areas in Busan, but you can enjoy the untouched and wide-open ocean vista.
The area is also known for having a beautiful skywalk and nice walking trails, too.
Among the many raw fish restaurants facing the water, we chose Haerim Hoetjip, a thirty-year-old dining establishment to have its well-known lunch special which goes for 20,000 won per person.
We were lucky enough to have the table by the window. At night, the lights on the fence add a romantic atmosphere with the sounds of the crashing waves nearby.
After ordering, we got our raw fish and side dishes which were prepared instantly. All the side dishes were fresh and nicely seasoned, and we could not believe that we had this nice spread for that price.
The fresh raw fish was a perfect thickness to enjoy the texture and taste while savoring every piece.
Japchae was the last side dish served which seemed to be cooked right after our order — the noodles were hot and nicely chewy and were perfectly seasoned.
Our waiter made sure that we had an enjoyable dining experience and when we almost finished the raw fish, he served us maeuntang, rice, and some more side dishes. The spicy and deep-tasting stew was amazing after the raw fish on a cold, windy day.
If you would like to enjoy the seafood as a main dish, they serve raw fish dishes from 40,000 won to 120,000 won by size and by kind of the fish — grilled seafood including clams, eel, abalone, and shrimp are served for 20,000 won to 60,000 won, and hot seafood soup from 25,000 to 60,000 won.
Though the interior was a little on the old-style side, everything seemed well-maintained and clean. There were not many customers at lunchtime on a weekday so it was a very quiet and nice dining experience.
After the meal, we walked toward the Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk to enjoy the scenery. There are nice walking paths around that area, and it was well-worth the visit.
