Jipbap Yein offers real Korean home-style cooked meals

In a small alley near at the north end of Gwangan beach, a lovely but secluded entrance welcomes people searching for a decent meal.

For those looking for a Korean home-style cooked meal, Jipbap Yein is definitely worth the effort to find.

Almost all the dishes are prepared after your order, and their signature banchan (side dishes), a medley of twelve different offerings, are a colorful array of delicious treats that are impressive even by normal restaurant standards.

They have four kinds of meals for 7,500 won per person; a tonkasu meal, fish, pork duruchigi (spicy seasoned pork), and beef bulgogi. After hearing the beef bulgogi is the least delicious, my dining companion and I ordered a tonkasu and fish meal with additional pork duruchigi for 2,500 won.

Deongangjjige (soybean paste stew) comes together with the meal, and rice and soup come free and unlimited with your meal.

Homemade style tonkasu.

It was surprising that the pork cutlet is made from scratch after ordering, which comes with a tangy homemade sauce which is quite unique to other restaurants.

This cozy restaurant which has a steady following is like a hidden jewel where you can experience real Korean home-style meals known as jipbap at a reasonable price.
