Kunsan airman found dead in dorm identified

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea  -- A U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class assigned to the 8th Security Forces Squadron was found deceased in his dormitory in the early morning of June 4.

Airman 1st Class Kevin T. Welsh's cause of death is currently under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Welsh arrived at Kunsan AB in June 2014. A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, he is survived by his parents.

"Kevin was a proud Defender of the Wolf Pack," said Lt. Col. Ian Dinesen, 8th SFS commander. "Our squadron is grieving this tragic loss along with his family back home. He will surely be missed here at Kunsan."
