Tim Hortons is tightening its focus on operational control in South Korea as it prepares to more than double its local store count to 50 outlets this year.
The Canadian coffee chain currently operates 24 stores, mostly concentrated in Seoul and surrounding metropolitan areas.
According to Yonhap, the company announced at a press conference held at its Shinnonhyeon location in southern Seoul that it plans to open 26 additional stores in 2026.
The expansion will include a flagship “signature store” featuring a larger footprint and an expanded food menu.
No mention was made if the expansion includes out of the Seoul metropolitan region.
Tim Hortons entered the Korean market in 2023, with an initial goal of opening 150 stores nationwide within five years.
