The 2025 Tongyeong Local Seafood Festival will be held from October 24 to 26 at Triathlon Square in Donam-dong, Tongyeong, celebrating the city’s rich seafood heritage through food, performances, and family-friendly experiences.

This year’s edition has been expanded into a “family-participatory seafood festival” featuring renowned chefs, upgraded facilities, and new interactive programs for all ages.

Seven of Korea’s leading chefs — Jang Ho-jun, Oh Se-deuk, Nam Jeong-seok, Bang Gi-su, Park Jun-woo, Jo Eun-ju, and Kim Do-yoon — will present creative dishes using Tongyeong’s five signature ingredients: oysters, sea squirts, anchovies, seaweed, and eel.

Visitors can watch live cooking demonstrations and taste exclusive festival dishes like “Tongyeong Oyster Grilled by a Michelin Chef,” “Anchovy Focaccia Pizza,” and “Oyster Ginger Onigiri.”

The festival grounds will feature a seafood experience zone, yacht and sea taxi rides, over 60 seafood and local food booths, a specialty market, and a family flea market. Children can enjoy hands-on programs and photo zones designed to make the event a full-family outing.

To improve convenience, the venue has doubled in size, added two large rain shelters, expanded parking, and introduced shuttle buses for easier access. A KakaoTalk real-time queue notification service and busking performances will enhance the overall visitor experience.

By highlighting Tongyeong’s signature seafood, including sea squirts, oysters, conger eel, and red sea bream, the festival aims to revitalize the local economy and strengthen ties between the city’s fishing industry, restaurants, and tourism sector.
