Yangsan has completed a streetscape improvement project in the Bukjeong-dong dining area, rebranding the neighborhood as “Hanggi Hanjan-gil” in an effort to strengthen its identity and attract more visitors.

The project covers a 500-meter stretch around Jungang-ro 280 and was carried out with a budget of 200 million won.

The new name reflects the area’s dual character as a place for casual daytime meals and evening drinks, aiming to create a clearer and more marketable image for the district.

Upgrades include the installation of street signage tied to the new branding, redesigned utility boxes, decorative elements on bus stops and streetlights, landscaped green strips, and enhanced nighttime lighting.

Together, these changes are intended to improve both walkability and the overall visual experience after dark.

Rather than focusing solely on infrastructure, the project emphasizes design elements that reflect local character, with the broader goal of encouraging longer visits and increasing foot traffic in the area’s commercial zones.
