Chipotle makes its Asian debut in Seoul, Korea

Chipotle Mexican Grill opened its first Asian restaurant Wednesday near Gangnam Station in Seoul, bringing the U.S. fast-casual chain to Korea for the first time.
The 96-seat location is in Seocho District, a short walk from Exit 10 of Gangnam Station.
The Korean menu follows Chipotle’s familiar customizable format. Customers start with a burrito, burrito bowl, tacos, salad or quesadilla before choosing from proteins including chicken, steak, barbacoa, carnitas and vegetarian options. Rice, beans, salsa, cheese, sour cream and vegetables can then be added.
Main meals are priced from 12,800 won to 14,800 won depending on the protein selected.
Standard additions such as rice, beans, salsa, cheese and lettuce can be added without an extra charge.
The Gangnam restaurant is the first of three Chipotle locations scheduled to open in Korea this year.
