On Camp Casey in Dongducheon Dec. 20, the Area I community holds a farewell luncheon for Mike Elmer, Area I’s Supervisory Recreation Specialist, Community Activities, at the Indian Head Golf Club. Elmer, who has served with Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, U.S Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I since Sept. 2015, will go on to fill the same position for Area 4 in Deagu. Elmer was presented with a commemorative coin by Command Sgt. Maj. Jason R. Copeland, U.S. Army Garrison Casey’s senior enlisted leader. In addition to several parting gifts from Area I directors. Elmer also received two awards. The Commander’s Award for Civilian Service and the Korean Civilian Service Medal were presented to him in recognition of his contributions to the Garrison. Among those in attendance were Lt. Col. Brian A. Jacobs, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Casey and Gregory B. Kirkland, Deputy to the Garrison and Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Casey.
