For SFC September Harris, service did not end when she put on the uniform—it evolved into a deeper mission of advocacy, compassion, and continued commitment to others. With over 21 years of Active Duty service in the United States Army, Harris has dedicated her life to serving her country. Today, she stands at the intersection of service and transition, using her voice to support women veterans and their children facing housing insecurity.
Currently stationed at Camp Humphreys, Korea, Harris is not only a senior noncommissioned officer, but also a mother of four who understands firsthand the resilience required to balance military service, family, and personal growth. Her lived experiences fuel her passion for ensuring that no woman veteran is left without support, stability, or a path forward.
As a 2026 Ms. Veteran America Semi-Finalist, Harris proudly advocates for Final Salute Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to providing safe housing and essential resources to homeless women veterans and their children. Through programs such as SAFE, HOME, and NEXT, Final Salute Inc. creates pathways to stability, independence, and long-term success.

Harris has taken an active role in raising awareness and support for this mission through consistent advocacy, educational outreach, and community engagement. From creating impactful speaking videos to leading grassroots fundraising efforts, she continues to amplify the voices and needs of women veterans who are often overlooked.
“I stand at the intersection of serving and transitioning,” Harris says. “Service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off—it continues in how we show up for one another. Every woman veteran deserves stability, dignity, and a real path forward, and I’m committed to using my voice to make sure they’re not forgotten.”
Through her platform, Harris is committed to building awareness, inspiring action, and creating meaningful change—one voice, one story, and one act of service at a time.
