2019 Seollal Holiday Schedule for Province Attractions & Shops

by Korea Tourism Organization
Korea Tourism Organization

Korea’s first major holiday Seollal falls on February 5 (January 1 on lunar calendar).

For many Koreans, Seollal is thought to be the first day of the year, clearing all the negative thoughts from last year and starting fresh.

The holiday period for this year’s Seollal will be for 3 days from February 4 to February 6.

During the Seollal holiday many attractions in the province area tend to close. Travelers visiting Korea during this period are recommended to check the holiday schedule in advance. Especially take note that many restaurants usually close on the day of Seollal (February 5). But many attractions such as national parks, theme parks, department stores and more will be open for business.

See below for holiday schedules of major tourist attractions and shopping centers in province areas.
