The city of Busan has opened “2025 Busan–ASEAN Week,” a ten-day cultural exchange festival running through November 30 at the Dong-gu Cultural Platform near Busanjin Station.
First launched after the successful 2019 ASEAN–ROK Special Summit, the event has grown into a key venue for citizen diplomacy and long-term cooperation with ASEAN countries.
This year’s edition is jointly organized by Busan City, the Busan Global City Foundation, and the KF ASEAN Culture House.
The 2025 program centers on the theme “ASEAN+3 Lounge,” featuring four concepts: ASEAN’s Beauty, ASEAN’s Light, ASEAN’s Window, and the shared Dream of Korea, China, and Japan.
Throughout the week, visitors can explore themed exhibitions and hands-on experiences representing ASEAN cultures.
Highlights include souvenir displays, a resort-inspired rest zone, an ASEAN drinks and dessert market, a lantern installation by country, and craft workshops such as rattan basket–making, Dok Champa flower pins, and traditional costume try-ons.
The venue also features 200 award-winning artworks from the 13th Korea-China-Japan Children’s Art Fair, expanding the event into a broader East Asian cultural space.
Open to everyone, the festival aims to encourage cross-cultural understanding and strengthen partnerships across Southeast and Northeast Asia.
