Busan’s iconic 20th Busan Fireworks Festival will light up the night sky on November 15, transforming Gwangalli Beach, Igidae, and Dongbaekseom into a spectacular celebration of light, sound, and emotion.
This year’s festival, marking its 20th anniversary, promises to be the biggest and most dazzling show yet featuring G-Dragon’s official track, expanded sea barge zones, and new fireworks performances including “Catch Ball Harmony” and 200 simultaneous multiplex fireworks.
Originally launched in 2005 during the APEC Summit, the Busan Fireworks Festival has grown into one of Asia’s most anticipated pyrotechnic events.
The 2025 edition carries the theme of Busan’s vision as a global tourism hub, celebrating both its history and future.
The show will be presented in three parts:
20th Anniversary Opening Fireworks – a synchronized display set to G-Dragon’s Übermensch, blending AI-enhanced music with stunning visuals.
International Fireworks Show – led by Japan’s Hibikiya Corporation, featuring 15 minutes of vibrant color displays.
Busan Multi Fireworks Show – by Hanwha, themed “Twenty Autumns,” culminating with the city’s largest-scale fireworks finale.
Pre-events like the “Fireworks Street” from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and social-media-driven “Fireworks Prologue” will build excitement before the main show.
To ensure maximum safety, the city is deploying over 7,000 safety personnel, designating 42 high-priority safety zones, and setting up crowd-control fences along Gwangalli Beach. Emergency lanes, 31 ambulances, and seven first-aid booths will be on standby throughout the event.
Traffic has been partially restricted from November 10, with full road closures on November 15 around Gwangalli Beach and Gwangandaegyo Bridge beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Public transport, including subways and buses, will extend operations to accommodate the crowds.
