The city of Yangsan will host the 21st Yangsan Chrysanthemum Festival from October 24 to November 9 at the Central Plaza of Hwangsan Park, transforming the area into a dazzling floral wonderland.
This year’s festival will feature more than 65,000 chrysanthemum works, showcasing the results of a full year of cultivation by the city, including cutting, pinching, training, and pest control, now presented as stunning floral art.
Over 300 bonsai-style pieces such as root-on-rock, stone, and wood displays will be exhibited alongside 500 large chrysanthemum sculptures and over 2,000 double-flower arrangements. In addition, more than 62,000 small chrysanthemums will fill the park with vibrant color and fragrance.
Themed installations will include local icons such as “Hoyit” and “Ppuyong,” the official mascots for the upcoming 2026 Visit Yangsan Year, as well as creative structures inspired by Yangsan’s folklore—like the Sablyang Gate, Blue and Yellow Dragons, and ancient pagodas. Other zones will recreate the feel of an amusement park with carousels and Ferris wheels, while winter-themed displays featuring igloos, snowmen, and penguins will add a touch of seasonal magic.
To enhance the experience, nighttime lighting will allow visitors to enjoy the dazzling displays until 9:00 pm, and from Friday to Sunday (4:00–6:00 pm), live performances including acoustic and band music will take place on the main stage at Central Plaza.
Beyond the chrysanthemums, Hwangsan Park will also be bursting with other autumn blooms — cosmos fields, zinnia gardens in full color, and a pumpkin tunnel adorned with hanging gourds.
Nearby, the western plaza features clusters of purple verbena and a striking red kochia forest over a meter tall, offering visitors a full sensory experience of autumn in Yangsan.
