One of Busan’s longest-running music events returns this weekend as the 22nd Hyeonin Song Festival takes place at the special outdoor stage at Songdo Beach in Seo-gu.

The two-day festival begins on Saturday, August 1, with an opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m., followed by the festival’s semifinal competition featuring 15 contestants and performances by invited singers Jeong Su-ra, Heo Chan-mi, Dosi Idol, and Jin Wook.

The festival concludes on Sunday, August 2, beginning at 7 p.m., when the five finalists compete for the title before a celebratory concert featuring Park Ji-hyun, Gu Su-gyeong, Byeol Sarang, Jo Young-nam, Seo Ji-oh, and Shin Hyun-ji.

Held annually in honor of legendary singer Hyeonin, the festival celebrates Korea’s traditional popular music while providing a stage for emerging performers.

Admission is free, and the event is expected to draw music fans to Songdo Beach for two evenings of live entertainment by the sea.
