The city of Changwon has announced that the 25th Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival will take place from November 1 to 9 across two main venues — the 3·15 Marine Nuri Park (Main Festival Site) and Happo Waterfront Park (Secondary Site) — transforming Masan into a city bursting with autumn color and festive energy.

This year’s theme, “Drawn to Chrysanthemums, Meeting Autumn,” highlights the beauty of the season with exhibitions, performances, and hands-on programs designed for all generations. Each venue offers a distinct atmosphere, one steeped in retro charm, the other inspired by a modern “newtro” sensibility.

At the 3·15 Marine Nuri Park, visitors will find retro-style chrysanthemum displays centered around the main theme, “Voyage.” The area will feature large-scale floral sculptures shaped like airplanes and boarding gates, creating the feeling of embarking on a joyful autumn journey.

Happo Waterfront Park will offer a “Newtro Hong Kong Bar” experience from noon to 10:00 pm daily, blending nostalgic flair with a contemporary twist. Visitors can enjoy food, drinks, and live performances against the scenic backdrop of Masan Bay’s glittering night views.

The festival’s nighttime experience has been expanded this year, with extended hours until 10 p.m. and new evening programs such as the “Sea Light Chrysanthemum Cinema” and the “Chrysanthemum Light Wishing Path.”

The opening ceremony will be held on November 1 at 7 p.m. at 3·15 Marine Nuri Park, featuring a 700-drone light show and performances by popular artists including Jinhae-seong, Punch, Park Tae-hee, Hooni Jung, and Choi Ji-na.

Earlier that day, at 3:30 p.m., a festive parade featuring military bands and the Robot Land performance team will kick off the celebrations.

Throughout the week, performances such as the Chrysanthemum Indie Music Festa (November 2), the Multimedia Fireworks Show (November 5), and the Dance & Cheerleading Festival (November 8) will keep the energy high.

Across Masan, local merchants will also host companion events, including the Masan Port Night Sea Festival, the Chang-dong Ramen Festival, and the Snowfall Street Festival, ensuring the entire city joins in the celebration.
